Wood race nails Carvalho tall tale
Carvalho’s claim of support comes up empty, seems desperate

NORTH LAS VEGAS, NV—Anita Wood and Felix Acevedo walked side-by-side Saturday, May 30, distributing Wood’s campaign material and talking with potential voters.
Hardly a strange story as the campaign for North Las Vegas City Council, Ward 3 enters the final days. Hardly strange at all, except Felix Acevedo is one of the Ward 3 primary election candidates mentioned in Wood’s opponent’s mailer which arrived at homes on Friday. In that mailer, Carvalho claimed the support of the primary candidates who did not move on to the general election.
“We reached out to the four candidates mentioned,” said Wood’s campaign consultant Gary Gray. “We have yet to find one endorsing Mr. Carvalho. It looks like a typical last-minute ploy making false claims which can’t be countered in time, and that’s a sure sign of desperation on Mr. Carvalho’s part. If he can’t win the race on his own, he can’t win it with false claims of support.”
When it comes to authenticated endorsements, Anita Wood is the clear winner with endorsements from fifteen different organizations. Carvalho has not listed a single organizational endorsement in his campaign materials. Wood’s support ranges from veterans to police officers, from firefighters to major unions.
