FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Monday, May 11, 2009 Anita Wood takes endorsement trifecta Wood adds to commanding lead in community support with endorsements from all three North Las Vegas employee groups NORTH LAS VEGAS, NV—Anita Wood added to her commanding lead in endorsements when both the fire fighters and police organizations joined North Las Vegas city workers in their support for her campaign announced today. In making their endorsements all three groups referred to Wood’s long history as a community volunteer and activist in North Las Vegas. Jeff Hurley, president of the North Las Vegas Fire Fighters, wrote in the letter of endorsement to Wood, “Your years of service and dedication to the citizens of North Las Vegas have made it clear you are ready for the job.” North Las Vegas Police Officers Association President Terrence McAllister wrote, “Your experience, as well as your long ties to our community, enable you to understand the unique needs of law enforcement and the needs of the citizens.” North Las Vegas City Employees Association announced their endorsement of Wood in the primary election. “I’m very pleased to have the support and confidence of the men and women who are on the front line of service in North Las Vegas,” Wood said. “During each interview process we discussed my fifteen years of volunteer service in a wide range of North Las Vegas activities. Now, that service and commitment are recognized by these important endorsements.” Wood received a solid core of endorsements in the primary, and the police officer and fire fighter endorsements were offered for the general election.
